What's next for the arts in schools? A policy discussion, 27 April 2026

“The arts enable us to investigate and relate to the world,” Michael Rosen

“We have to fight for our children’s voices,” Bob and Roberta Smith

We were delighted to welcome everybody to Cecil Sharp House on Monday 27 April for the Arts and Minds policy discussion on what’s next for arts in schools.

We heard from a range of speakers, including writer Michael Rosen and artist Bob and Roberta Smith, and enjoyed performances from young people. This inspiring event showed how committed the cultural sector and the teaching profession are to ensuring that every child has access to arts subjects at school.
